The Reggio Approach, is an approach to viewing the potential of children that correlates most highly with the SynEDgy Schooling Approach. This Italian approach not only talks about but demonstrates the importance of relationships and
the social settings to learning. Highly acclaimed and studied on an international level, it will soon become a growing interest here in South Africa as well.

Synergy and other national schools working with human values.

In doing research to find other schools who share common visions and wisdom, we came across many schools that are all pioneers in the field of authentic learning. SynEDgy Schooling has formed relationships with these schools in an effort to increase our understanding of living and learning and broaden the impact of these approaches on a national level.
Some of the exciting schools founds are so far are: HeartLight Community, Rondebosch Boys Prep School, Nahoon Montessori School, Brookby School

Synergy and other international approaches and trends

The global trends in the theory of education seem to be shifting to authentic learning set in the context of social interactions. The practice of this
theory is the crucial issue though. At the same time there seems to be a growing recognition that the early years (Pre-school and Kindergarten) are where appropriate education can have the most impact. In South Africa this doesn't seem to be the case. Increasingly, funding and teacher training for this age group is placed into other projects and programmes, contrary to international trends.

SynEDgy Schooling plans to be actively involved here in demonstrating that these early years are critical to life long learning and human development.
